Galatians 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all.

Galatians 4:2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

Galatians 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.

Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.
The one we call Emmanuel was born at a time when the Old Testament Mosaic Law was still in effect..Barnes Notes: As one of the human race, partaking of human nature, Emmanuel was subject to the law of God. This showed that even with the vacillating.nature we all have, that of heading into the bad side at times.(*), that it is possible to supersede.the.low consciousness side:.Romans 6:14; Galatians 5:18; Romans 13:10. As a man, Emmanuel was bound by the Mosaic Law's requirements and subject to its control. Emmanuel took his place under the law, that he might accomplish an important purpose for those who were under it. He made himself subject to it that he might become one of them and secure their redemption.
Galatians 4:5.To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Galatians 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
But what if you were not in that group God calls sons, such as was the group having descended from ancient Esau?

The new heart wants the things of God. The old normal heart, is comfortable with the things self and could be part of the same thinking frequency of these ancients who wanted nothing to do with God:.Jeremiah 44:16,17.

None can 'come to God', that is, awaken again.(2Timothy 1:9).to God and God's purpose for each of us individually, unless God has mercy on them at this time and they do respond to a reawakening to God:.1Corinthians 1:26. We all were created in God:.2Timothy 1:9. We all have free choice and always did. We were sucked in by the dark side. We had free choice. It's God's mercy that can bring us back to God:.Ephesians 5:14 "Wherefore he says, Awake you that sleep. Arise from the dead and Christ shall give you light."

Galatians 4:7 Wherefore you are no more a servant.(of that old law), but a son and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Has to be now through Christ, as we all had it once.(2Timothy 1:9).but threw it away by leaning toward the dark side:.Jeremiah 44:16,17.
Galatians 4:8 Howbeit then, when you knew not God, you did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
More accurately:."Why was it then that when you were not spiritual you just naturally served the non spiritual?".How?

John 4:22.

Galatians 4:9 But now, after that you have known God or rather are known of God.(believe God knows you are important to Him), how turn you again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto you desire.(original is 'will').again to be in bondage?
Colossians 2:8; Luke 9:62.
Galatians 4:10 You observe days and months and times and years.
Barnes Notes: The object of this verse is to specify some of the things to which they had become enslaved. Their minds were aware of spiritual things, but their heart was on concerns of the low consciousness ego level.

Comprised from.Peoples New Testament Notes: These are specifications of how they were turning back to the Mosaic law. The days are the Sabbaths. The months are the new moons. The times are the Judean festivals. The years are the Sabbatical.(every 7).years and such as the year of jubilee. In observing these, there was legal bondage to an obsolete system.

These all were never binding except on Judeans (Romans 3:1,2) and others who embraced Judaism. Prior to Christ's time they were binding. When Paul wrote the Galatians, these had for years been done away:.Colossians 2:16; 2Corinthians 11:3,4; Galatians 2:21; Galatians 4:11.

Galatians 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
He's saying, You really haven't learned the truth about what I was saying.
Galatians 4:12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am, for I am as you are.(you're just as important as me on this Earth and we all are connected). You have not injured me at all.
Though we're all connected, you have your own thoughts and they make your own life.
Galatians 4:13 You know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

Galatians 4:14 And my temptation.(word 'temptation' in the original can also mean 'trial').which was in my flesh you despised not, nor rejected, but received me as an angel of God and even as Christ Emmanuel.(you gave us great respect).

Galatians 4:15.(from the original). What was the blessedness?.(Paul recalling their kindness). For I bear you record that if it had been possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and have given them to me.

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
Someone was altering the good attitude the church in Galatia was previously known for:.Galatians 3:1.
Galatians 4:17 They zealously affect you, but not well.(Romans 10:2); yea, they would exclude you because you might affect those they have under their wings.
Paul questions the motives of these who appear sincerely zealous for God. Paul maintains that their zeal is mere pretense to deceive the Galatians. They are zealous toward you because they expect you to reciprocate. Our Savior Christ also warned us, saying:.Matthew 7:15.
Galatians 4:18 But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing and not only when I am present with you.

Galatians 4:19 My little children.(1John 2:12-14), of whom I travail in birth again until Christ.(what is Christ?).be formed in you.
God is love:.1John 4:8,16. It is His nature (attitude) of love that is being formed in us bringing us to completion in love. Our part.
Galatians 4:21 Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?

Galatians 4:22,23 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons the one by a bondmaid the other by a freewoman...But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh, but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory, for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which genders to bondage, which is Agar.
'Agar' or 'Hagar' in the Old Testament was Abraham's concubine. In this allegory, Paul uses Hagar in representing the church based then on the Mosaic Law and because of that was in bondage to this ceremonial law, which was a cursed law:.Galatians 3:13. And Sarah represents the true church of Christ, which is free from this bondage.
Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answers to Jerusalem which now is and is in bondage with her children.

Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem.which is above.is free.(free how?).which is the mother of us all..
The Old Testament tight knit nations of Israel and Judah were together only an antitype of the now prevalent.so-called.spiritual Israel, of which all those in higher consciousness are included.

Comprised with.Adam Clarke's Commentary: there is this physical Jerusalem on Earth which is allegorical to the spiritual Jerusalem (the kingdom of God) where all in it are free from all bondage and sin:.2Corinthians 3:17. Paul is saying in this verse that it is this Jerusalem which is our mother. It signifies the spiritual church:.Hebrews 12:22; 13:17; Romans 13:1.

Galatians 4:27 For it is written.(in Isaiah 54:1), Rejoice, you barren that bears not. Break forth and cry you that travail not, for the desolate has many more children than she which has an husband.
Way back then, Abraham's main partner Sarah/Sarai, couldn't have a child as yet. She wanted a child and told Abraham to father one with Sarah's handmaid named Hagar. Hagar conceived. The child was called Ishmael. Sarah became bitchy and sent Hagar away into the wilderness. The Creator had mercy on both Sarah (she eventually had a child, Issac) and on Hagar:.the story

And comprised from Adam Clarke's Commentary '...relates to the Gentiles, as the following clause proves; for the desolate (meaning, the Gentile world).has many more children.(is much larger and more numerous than Israel ever was).than she which has a husband.(meaning, Sarah and Abraham).

Galatians 4:28 Now we brethren as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Romans 9:8.
Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him.('him' not in original; means us at the ego level of existence and the ego level shoves away anything to do with the spirit or higher consciousness things).that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Galatians 4:31 So then brethren we are not children of the bondwoman.(religion and all the do's and don'ts that come with it).but of the free.
