Adams was a signer of the
Declaration of Independence. He was later lieutenant governor (1789–93)
and governor (1794–97) of Massachusetts. He was all for American Independence
from Britain, especially so with taxes on everyones income and purchases,
the British were instituting. One of his quotes is."If
ever a time should come when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest
seats in government, our country will stand in need of its experienced
