Matthew 24:1 And Emmanuel went out, and departed from the temple. And his disciples.(learners, students).came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple.
The temple (Luke 21:5,6) was a religious mainpiece.
Matthew 24:2 And Emmanuel said unto them, See you not all these things? Verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Barne's Notes:."At the time this was spoken, no event was more improbable than this event prophesied some 560 years before by Daniel:.Daniel 9:26. The temple was vast, rich, splendid. It was the pride of the nation and the nation was at peace. Yet in the short space of forty years all this was exactly accomplished. Jerusalem was taken by the Roman armies, under the command of Titus, 70 A.D. The account of the siege and destruction of the city is left us by Josephus, an historian of undoubted veracity and singular fidelity. He was a Jewish priest. In the wars of which he gives an account, he fell into the hands of the Romans and remained with them during the siege and destruction of the city."
Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world?.(*)

Matthew 24:4 And Emmanuel answered and said unto them, Take heed.(be alert to; note what people may be trying to get you into).that no man deceive.(leads you astray).you.

Matthew 24:5 For many shall come in my name saying that I am the Christ and shall deceive many.
Many will be around telling you to 'follow Jesus' (see under 'Emmanuel') and talking about His life's importance for you:.Luke 21:8.
If what they are telling you doesn't ring true in your heart, that is, you don't feel correct about it, then avoid them:.Romans 10:8.
Matthew 24:6,7 And you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you be not troubled. For all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation.(multitudes of peoples against each other).shall rise against nation and kingdom.(organized governments).against kingdom(everyone everywhere it seems will be at odds with others). And there shall be famines and pestilences and Earthquakes, in divers.(different).places.

Matthew 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted.(perhaps like the original Inquisition).and shall kill you. And you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Could this be all awakened good minded people being talked about here or only the good minded ones who just couldn't seem to awaken to God and needed some event in their lives so that they would?
Matthew 24:10 And then shall many be offended.(that is, be an offense to others).and shall betray one another and shall hate one another.

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
The negatives produced by lives of those living from the ego level can cause one's love to submerge, where they have lost sensitivity to the things of change. This happened to the ancients:.Jeremiah 44:16,17. How to remain stable, preventing one's love being submerged and so that doesn't happen in your life:.John 15:4,5; Acts 20:32; Ephesians 3:17; Colossians 2:7; Hebrews 13:5; Jude 1:20. Why would anyone be full of fear instead of full of the true and only God.
Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure.(original for 'endure' is 'to remain under', to stay in alignment is the key).unto the end, the same is saved.(original for word 'saved' in Greek is 'sozo').

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world.(which it was from the time of Christ's ascension till this time:.Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Colossians 1:6,23; Romans 10:10-18; 16:26; Luke 24:47; Acts 19:20,21,26; 13:49; 16:6; 14:19-28; 10:34-46; Ephesians 2:17; Revelation 14:6; *).for a witness.(original for word 'witness' is 'testimony', which is what someone has to say about something; when others are willing enough to hear what is being said, they listen what is being said) unto all nations and then shall the end come.

The end came then and is still with us:.Daniel 9:23,24. We live now by the grace of the Creator, just as in ancient times and the reason then God awaited:.Genesis 15:16.

Today we wait patiently for the good things of the kingdom of God talked about in the Bible, called the promises.

Matthew 24:15 When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation.(*).spoken of by Daniel the prophet.(Daniel 9:27), stand in the holy place.(Abbott's Illustrated New Testament:."the abominable and desolating armies of the Roman empire"), whoso reads, let him comprehend.

Matthew 24:16 Then let them which be in Judea flee to the mountain.
Isaiah 65:11.
Matthew 24:17,18 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house.(these housetops had relaxing garden type patios on them and stairs coming down to the ground on a house's outside; it was a time of great urgency back then just before the fall of Jerusalem, so it is said to take the outer stairs and get out as this would be quicker; the time would be that urgent). Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Matthew 24:19,20 And woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! But pray you that your flight be not in the winter neither on the sabbath day.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
It was a unique tribulation.
Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved. But for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Mark 13:20 "And except the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved, but for the elect's sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days."

Note it's talking not of all humanity, but refers to those (Revelation 6:15,16) under that great tribulation then in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and today to those who hate God and don't want to change the timeline of the belief structure they are in:.Romans 1:19; Galatians 4:9.

Comprised from.Adam Clarke's Commentary:.Josephus computes the number of those who perished in the siege at eleven hundred thousand, besides those who were slain in other places, WAR, b. vi. c. 9 and if the Romans had gone on destroying in this manner, the whole nation of the Jews would, in a short time, have been entirely extirpated, but, for the sake of the elect, the days were shortened. So well fortified was Jerusalem and so well provided to stand a siege, that the enemy without could not have prevailed, had it not been for the factions and seditions within. When Titus was viewing the fortifications after the taking of the city, he could not help ascribing his success to God. He said "We have fought with God on our side and it is God who pulled the Jews out of these strong holds, for what could machines or the hands of men avail against such towers as these?"....WAR, b. vi. c. 9.

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ or there, believe it not.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
So, what does one need to know to avoid these falsies? And, Matthew 12:39,40.
Matthew 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.

Matthew 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth or if they say, behold he is in the secret chambers, believe it not.

Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even unto the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Matthew 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
See gene Decode on it at:.Acts 2:20.

Comprised from.People's New Testament Notes: when Christ's light was darkened during the Inquisition by taking the Bible from We the People, hardly any scriptural light came forth during the long night of the Middle Ages. Josephus' writings on it.

And comprised from.Lightfoot Commentaries: that is, the Jewish dreams of a 'heaven on Earth' brought about by a Messiah they looked for all their history, believing He would be returning to establish them, shall perish and the sun and moon of its glory and happiness shall be darkened and brought to nothing, the Sun being the religion of their church, the moon being the government of their state and the stars, judges and doctors of both; compare Isaiah 13:10 and Ezekiel 32:7,8, which generally means to shut down any effectiveness a religion or even a nation may have. But this is only one timeline. There are others and they are better ones.

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign.(talking here about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., the sign or evidence of His coming was found in the fulfilment of these predictions).of the Son of man in heaven.(Josephus' writings on it). And then shall all the tribes of the Earth mourn and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:27.
Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet.(1Corinthians 15:52; 1Thessalonians 4:16).and they shall gather.(Mark 13:27).together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven.(some will be in outer space at this time; listen to Gene Decode on it).to the other.

Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh.

Matthew 24:33 So likewise you, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things.(what things?).be fulfilled.
Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation.(the generation to which he referred to were the ones listening to him; Emmanuel was 33 years old at this time and his generation would be about 37 years older when what he was saying would occur and did occur and from there we move into the present era{2Corinthians 6:2}).shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
